What? Philipines grass now?

December 17, 2008 |

Yes, back 20 years ago it was Taiwan carpet grass and now it’s Philippines Grass (PG). Just how serious you think this might be, just say that serving up the net and you’ll come up with buy and sell PG. I know its not cheap as I’ll be paying Rm160 bucks for the two small patches of tree retention area in front of my house this week. Unlike Taiwan Grass (TG) or scientifically called Arundo Formosana (which we’ve planted at my sisters garden in SS19 and took almost all our weekends to weed and trim), I can’t find enough information on this so called PG-liao. I know that TG has narrow grasslike foliage, with leaf veins typically parallel to one another and is very pokish. The good thing about TG is tha its roots form a fibrous mass and enable the plant to survive long-term dry periods.

Now I hope the grassman is telling me the truth that PG is superior than TG, else there goes my RM160!
